Amanda- Owner of Calamity from litter C

Review
Hi everyone, thought I’d write a few lines to pass on my experiences and thoughts on Ouchmouse babies after aqquirring Miss Calamity last month.

I fell in love with Calamity the minute I saw her picture! I contacted Becca, who was rightly thorough with her questions about me as a perspective owner of one of her babies from litter C. She sent her contract over via email for me to read through before deciding to go ahead.
Becca came across as knowledgeable and friendly, setting up a Facebook message group for all mum’s of litter C to stay in contact. This was a lovely touch as we all shared the experience together as we waited for our babies.
Sadly the mum of the litter rejected the babies and Becca had to step in as mum. We as a group were kept up to date with their progress as Becca took over their care with confidence.
Unfortunately one baby boy, Calab, unexpectedly passed away. As we had become a group we were all able to try and support his mum after her loss.
When collection day came around Becca was accommodating over times and days and welcoming after a long journey with the kettle on and cake at the ready. We received wonderful care packs for our babies…especially unique was the pouch and dish which were personalised to Calamity!
Calamity was quilling badly as she is an albino and Becca was full of tips to help ease her discomfort.
The messenger group for litter C is still running so we can all keep updated on the whole litter together.
Calamity is a grumpy girl who loves cuddles but doesn’t want you to know! This I think is partly down to her bad quilling and partly down to the fact that I’m not Becca, the whole litter clearly had a strong bond with her after hand rearing. She is a healthy, sometimes happy hoggie who I completely adore!!!
Plus points….

Becca is very committed to ethical breeding and takes her role as hog mummy very seriously.

Becca is clearly thorough with her choice of parents for her litters, which speaks volumes. Everything is done to ensure the welfare of the mum and babies.

She is approachable and knowledgeable, and is willing to share that knowledge, a huge plus for any first time hog parents.

Her updates are wonderful, mainly in video form.

The whole litter was clearly handled and socialised well.

The group set up for litter C was a fantastic idea to connect all the litters parents.

Care pack was beautiful and put together with a lot of care and thought. Personalised items made them extremely special. Along with the care pack we were able to purchase an ouchmouse wheel for the discounted price of £10.

Improvements….

Honestly can’t think of much, just a couple of ideas…

Maybe include some bath products (baby toothbrush, coconut oil etc)in the care pack?

I would have liked more pictures of Calamity rather than video’s but that may just be me,old fashioned!!!

Knowledge of care of hogs and tips to help new hog parents would be wonderful to include in some sort of pamphlet on pick up. Not needed in my case as I have experience but could be really useful for first time parents.

In purchasing an Ouchmouse hoglet you can be certain of a healthy, social baby who comes from a breeder who has the welfare of her hogs at the centre of what she does…I adore my baby girl and am thrilled with the service I received from Becca. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.
